I never thought going to venues listening to live music could be such a blast! There are so many amazing artists performing in Nashville and some of the larger honky-tonks have 5 floors each with different bands playing. So much great music and so much fun!

Saturday started with a brunch with my high school friend Scott Johnson and his wife Ann. They were kind enough to drive an hour north into Nashville to meet up with us – it's been years since we've seen each other and we had a 3+ hour brunch and such a good time together. And WOW was the food yummy! Scott and his wife run their family business called Musgrave Pencil and I'm looking forward to visiting the production facility on Monday when I head south.

Then we headed back into Nashville to enjoy more of the Honky Tonk music scene. Went to several different places and had such an amazing time. Whoever thought listening to live music could be so much fun?!?!

On Sunday we started the day by going to the Gaylord to check out their Christmas decorations. The Gaylord is the largest hotel in the country not affiliated with a casino - it's so big that it has a river that runs through it on which you can take riverboat rides. They go all out with their Christmas decorations and they sure didn't disappoint with some enormous trees. They even have outdoor skating - amazing to see people skating when it was 60° out. We then headed into Nashville to see artist Kelsey Montague's Wings in the Gulch district. My friend Traci had challenged me to find it and I'm so glad I did – what a beautiful mural. Lots of people lineup to take a picture here and be inspired. Then sadly Randy had to head back home to Maine and I had to come back to my "Nashville place" to do some much overdue laundry and packing. I will miss Nash the cat - he sure was the most personable and interactive cat I've ever encountered, and staying at his place the last few days was such a treat.
