In 2021, I started a job as a "remote employee" after the pandemic. Although initially I longed for a traditional in-office job, I soon found I loved the opportunity an online job provided. Not only could I work from home ... but I could also work from away! I worked from ski areas in Maine to the coast of California, and decided I wanted to explore the USA by working remotely. A few trips made me realize that when working, there really isn't a lot of time for exploring, so I decided to take a few months off so I could properly satisfy my travel cravings. I'd leave Maine in November when the weather gets cold, head south towards FL to be in Sarasota in time for Christmas with my mom, and then continue west in a clockwise loop around the country. I hope to return to Maine next September so I can get an off-season rental after the summer tourists depart.

As soon as I started thinking of all the many places I wanted to explore I realized that 10 months is not nearly enough time ... so I will likely have to do another road trip after I retire. But for now, I hope to enjoy some hiking in national parks, some biking through towns and cities, visits with friends, and quenching the thirst for exploring new places. Join me here to follow along.
