Charleston - exploring

What an AMAZING city Charleston is! City streets are lined with palmetto trees (they look like palm trees to those of us who are not from the area but don't call them that!), gorgeous architecture, lots of history, a beautiful waterfront, tons of nice shops, streets lined with cobblestone and bricks, cute little back alleys, lots of good restaurants and rooftop bars, great climate, dolphins in the harbor .... and it sure doesn't feel like a big city. It's clean and safe and really impressive!

My friend Kelly arrived and will be with me for a couple of days - so fun to have a friend to explore with!

We took a 2-hour walking tour, explored the market, found a few rooftop bars, explored Shem Creek, and discovered the Gin Joint where the bartender makes you a specialty drink based on the adjectives you select ... amongst many other good times.
