I'm back in Salt Lake City, this time a little further south than I was last week. I'm in an area called Midvale which is about 10 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City, and only 15 miles west of some amazing ski resorts in Cottonwood Canyon.
I'm here cat-sitting for 3 cats: Loma (senior fenale and elusive - no pic of her yet), Rio (1-year old male, darker) and Ullr (pronounced Ew-ler, an adorable 3-month old male kitten, lighter).

I woke this morning to Ullr cuddling in the crook of my elbow and purring loudly. He is so sweet! When I got up he proceeded to follow me around like a little shadow and every time I sat he hopped up in my lap. He's absolutely adorable. He goes from periods of high energy where he loves playing with Rio and zooming around to snoozing on the couch. Either 100% on or napping.
Not a very exciting day for me.. I got up and decided I would treat myself to going to a local coffee shop for breakfast because I had not yet figured out the coffee maker here and didn't really have much in the way of breakfast food. Found an awesome place (Honeysuckle Coffee Company) and had a delicious frittata and the best cappuccino ever – caramel whiskey flavor with a beautiful design on top.
After breakfast I saw that there was a nail place in the same plaza and I went in for a much overdue manicure and pedicure. My toes were a disaster after all the hiking I have done! After that it was off to the supermarket to get food for the week. Then back home, a couple of phone calls, and time to work on updating my LinkedIn and resume.
Took a break and walked the neighborhood this afternoon – it's a cold (40s) and damp and overcast day – not very nice out. It's supposedly snowing quite a bit in the mountains this weekend - I will see how the roads are and if they are passable I might head out and see if I can enjoy some skiing tomorrow.
