27-February-2024 Made It!!!

It's official! I made it all the way across the USA to the West Coast!

This morning I was sad to have to bring Katy to the airport – her time playing with me on my Adventure was over.

After dropping Katy off I headed west for my final push to LA. On the way I couldn't resist a quick stop at the kitschy Dino Land– the gift shop is in the belly of the pink dinosaur. Too funny!

I continued on until I made it to the Santa Monica pier which is the official end of Route 66 where I have spent many a mile. I took off my shoes walk to the ocean and put my feet in the Pacific to prove that I had truly made it coast to coast.

Then it was off to Kristen and Peter's place. Kristen got home from work a little early so we had time to go for a walk before heading out to dinner at an Indian place. Food was delicious and it was fun to have some time just with Kristen and Peter.

The following day was an organizational day. I was way overdue on doing some laundry and had to empty out my car which had become a disorganized mess. Got the car cleaned out, laundry done, bangs trimmed, emails answered, and mile done, and then I had to re-pack everything as tomorrow I head back to the East Coast for a week of skiing.

That evening we headed out to a Japanese barbecue place for a "late" dinner. Funny how in Los Angeles people go out to eat at 8 and 9 PM and back in Scarborough everything is closed up tight for the night by that time!

Ordered a 3-person dinner combo platter and was served a variety of raw meats that "we" cooked at the table on our own grill. Honestly Kristen was our table's solo cook and did a great job - everything was delicious. The meal ended with us making our own smores for dessert - good thing we walked back to their place after such a big meal!
