Ok, so when I told you back in early April that I finished up the ski season at Snow Basin I might’ve been lying …. Because I went skiing again today and it was one of the best spring skiing days I’ve ever had!

Arapahoe Badin ( or A-Basin for short) is a high altitude ski area that is known to be open the latest of all the Colorado ski resorts. Its base is at 10,000 feet and it tops out at about 12,500 feet. There was a base of 60 inches of snow, and unlike some spring skiing where the snow gets wet and heavy in the afternoon the snow stayed smooth and silky all day long. It was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures in the mid 50s up top. And because of its altitude there was lots of skiing above the tree line and in the back bowls - truly a spectacular day and one of my most favorite ski days!

A-Basin is only 90 minutes from my Boulder home, and when I returned in the late afternoon I sat outside on the patio as it was still 75° at 5pm in Boulder. I just love this climate! Had to get my mile in and the sun was going down over the mountains – so beautiful here.
