Meet Kiki!

Kiki is a beautiful 5-year-old calico cat who resides in a cute bungalow just north of Boulder, Colorado. I’ll be caring for her over the next week while her mom is away.

I started my first day in Boulder by doing some exploration via bicycle. There are lots of dedicated bike paths and all the roads have bike lanes. This is definitely the most bicycle friendly town I’ve ever ever been in!

Downtown Boulder has a beautiful section called the Pearl Street mall which is a pedestrian only zone filled with lots of cute shops, cafés and restaurants as well as thousands of tulips. Unfortunately, just before I got there the sun went away so the tulips were closed up and the lighting just didn’t do all their colors justice. I’ll have to come back on a sunny day!

On the way back home I saw a deer start to come out onto the road and it literally crossed just a few yards ahead of me! Apparently dear think they have priority over people in the dedicated bike lane. I also saw a huge mound which was home to a colony of Prairie Dogs – they are so adorable how they pop up out of their little holes. Very entertaining! Ah the wonders of nature!!!!
