I’m back!!!!! I feel like I left the blog on a cliffhanger after the insane day of travel from Salt Lake City to Denver where I encountered a blizzard and high winds and closed interstates – that sure was a day. But the good news is that I made my flight out and had a wonderful whirlwind vacation from my Adventure on the East Coast the last 2 weeks. On Sunday, April 22 I flew back to Denver Colorado where I had left my car and I’m back on the road.

A quick recap of my “ East Coast detour”:

I flew from Denver to Sarasota and spent 5 days visiting my mom in Sarasota. There’s always lots of things to do during the day and in the evenings we enjoy our rummikub battles. While there we also got to spend some time with mom‘s friends Edith (thanks for the dinner invitation!) and Evelyn, as well as with my high school friend Ann who invited us for a fabulous lunch at the Field Club.

From Sarasota I headed north to Boston. Arrived Friday evening and enjoyed dinner with Eric, Trevor, Hannah and Randy. Afterwards we went to the Encore Casino to try our luck … and sadly left there with less money than we arrived with. Oh well …. Fun all the same!

Saturday was filled visiting family and friends, and on Sunday we had our annual memorial walk in honor of Jeff. I used to complain about “anniversary dates” because anyone who experiences a loss experiences it every day and not just once or twice a year on specific calendar days. But I have really come to like our Jeff Walks It gets all of Jeff’s special people together and enables us to carve out some time dedicated just to him and his memory. He sure has an incredible group of people who are his family and friends and it is a testament to who he was. Thanks to all who gathered in his honor both in person and remotely.

After the Walk I headed north to Scarborough and enjoyed a few days visiting with lots of friends I had not seen since before I hit the road in November. It was so nice to reconnect face-to-face with so many!!! And a special THANK YOU to the Maine Professional Photographers Association who honored me with their Distinguished Colleague award - so happy I was able to receive it in person and reconnect with my old buddies.

And now I’m back on the road making the final push east. I will be housesitting starting Monday, June 17 in Durham, New Hampshire, so I have to be back in the northeast by mid-June. Here’s to packing in a lot more fun and exploration in the final few weeks!
