Happy St. Pattys Day! ☘️
Had 2 awesome days skiing this weekend at Palisades with my new friend Paul (AKA Dooner).

What I didn't realize until I saw the Olympic Rings is that this used to be Squaw Valley where the winter Olympics were held in 1960. I skied here a long long long time ago (30 years?) and didn't realize it had a name change to respect Native Americans. I totally don't remember the mountain – it is huge and beautiful! It is a series of interconnected peaks many of which have views over crystal blue Lake Tahoe, and no matter what direction u look it's magnificent.
A couple of weeks ago they got dumped on by nearly 5 feet of snow and the conditions are absolutely amazing. Packed powder everywhere – no dirt, no ice - nothing but snow! And we were so lucky to have 2 days of bluebird skies and warm temperatures.
After our ski days I walked a mile in Dooner's beautiful Reno neighborhood with Mountain View's all around. And then a soak in the hot tub (also with great views) ... doesn't get much better!
Dooner is heading back to his California home this evening as he has a business trip tomorrow but has kindly let me stay in his place so that I can ski another day tomorrow.
