My day started with an awesome latte in Knoxville and then I hit the highway for the 3 hour drive to Nashville. Was surprised to see a double wide load on the highway (see pic below) – don't ever think I've seen that before!
My reason for coming to Nashville is that part of my Adventure I will be bartering pet care for accommodations. I joined an organization called Trusted Housesitters and they did a background check and required some references. There is a network of homeowners who would like someone to stay in their homes and care for their pets while they are away, and Instead of paying for a traditional housesitter you join the Trusted Housesitter network and pay about $150 per year and then all your pet sitting is free! We who wonder about love to have free accommodations and it's a win-win. The website is set up so that sitters/wanderers can search for house/pet sitting opportunities all around the country and filter it by date and see if there is anything available. This is my first "sit" and it's just one cat so it's super easy! My temporsry pet is called Nash - appropriate for a cat in Nashville! He is super friendly and vocal and loves to play with his toys.

The apartment is a two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor with big windows that overlook Nashville. After getting settled I hit the supermarket and went for a nice long walk. A couple of observations: not only are the trains here super long but they are also double-decker stacked cars. I've never seen that before! They also have moonshine in lots of different (and weird) flavors – including pickle moonshine. Gross!
Looking forward to a chill day tomorrow – I've been on the go and busy exploring from morning to night and I'm looking forward to a recovery day. Sorry to all my followers that today was not very exciting (nor will tomorrow be).
Nash has his own chair in front of a large picture window which is cracked open about 8 inches. He loves to stick his head out to watch the world go by. He's super animated and cute!
