12-January-2024. I Turned Left Today!

Since my initial departure I had been heading south to Florida ... and today I made the monumental turn west onto I-10, and I'll keep heading west until I reach California. I also time traveled .... I crossed the time line and relived 12:30-1:30pm as I entered Central Time. Being an "hour behind" East coast time will take some getting used to!

I had hoped to do a small side-trip to the Coastal town of Seaside (recommended by a friend) but a strong line of thunderstorms and wind was passing through so I decided to stick to the highway and headed straight to my destination.

By the time I reached Mobile, Alabama the sun was out and I found a place to park and got my daily mile in along the river and some of the downtown streets. BBQ for dinner and finishing my book are on the evening agenda. Looking forward to not having to cover any distance tomorrow and staying in the same place 2 nights in a row - a luxury!
