The day has come ....

I must admit I did not pull away from 9K with a dry eye! Although I'm really looking forward to my adventure it's a huge leap of faith to go on an Adventure. But my Splendas spoke to me with encouraging messages on my final few packets.

I walked a final Maine mile, crammed a few remaining items into my storage space and was officially on my way.

My first stop was to meet my work friend Rayna for a NH mile, then down to Boston to say farewell to Eric and Brianna (and walk a Massachusetts mile) and then on to Connecticut where I stayed overnight with Debbie & Bob. We had a fun outdoor fire pit with D&B's neighbors and a farewell manny. 🥃 No photos that evening, but we got in a CT mile in on Saturday morning with neighbor Robin so that pic is included below.

I was running short on time and did not detour into Rhode Island to walk a mile there and might be regretting it if I end up walking in the other lower 48 and need to hit RI on my way home - that's a problem for a future day.

Day 1 was a success!
